Documents and translation
Notarised and consular translation, apostille, legalisation.
What this means in practice
Not the price — the TIME and the STEPS. These are the three questions that actually reduce the worry, and the third is zero for most of our work.
- Typical duration
- 1–3working days
- Authorities involved
- 2authorities
- Where you must appear
- none
Durations are given as ranges: the authority sets the calendar, not us. When we take your file we tell you where things actually stand.

Documents and translation
- Passports, civil records, diplomas, powers of attorney
- Legal and court documents
- Notarisation for official filing

How long this takes and how many institutions it passes
- Typical time
- 1–3working days
- Institutions
- 2separate institutions involved
- Where you must go in person
- Nowhere — you do not need to attend in person
The time is a range, not a promise. The appointment date and the processing speed are set by the institution; we stop your file from waiting there, we do not set their calendar.
What to bring
The chain cannot start without these. If something is missing, say so — most gaps can be closed, but starting without knowing costs days.
- The ORIGINAL document. Notarising a translation requires the original or a notarised copy; a plain photocopy is not enough.
- Identity card or passport.
- Which country the document will be used in, and for what. This decides the chain — apostille or consular.
- The Latin spelling of your name as it appears in your passport. The translation follows it; two spellings mean two different people.
The road a document takes
- 01
The chain is decided
If the destination country is party to the 1961 Hague Convention, an apostille is enough. If not, consular legalisation is required and the chain grows by one institution.
- 02
Sworn translation
The translation is done by a translator whose oath is registered with the notary. Any other translation, however accurate, is not certified.
- 03
Notarisation
NotaryThe notary certifies that the translation matches the document.
- 04
Apostille or consulate
On the apostille route: one annotation, one institution. On the consular route: first the competent ministry, then the destination country's consulate — two queues, two fees.
What costs the most time
Arriving with a photocopy
A photocopy does not start the certification chain, and the original is usually in another city — a one-day job becomes a week. Write to us first and we will tell you whether what you hold is enough.
