Steps
- 01The document is notarised in the issuing country; a sworn translation is added at this stage if one is required.
- 02Минюст · МВД · Рособрнадзор affixes the apostille to the ORIGINAL document.
Translation before or after?
General rule: certificate first, translation after. The apostille goes onto the ORIGINAL; the translation is then made and notarised separately. Some consulates want the reverse — the institution receiving your document states the order it requires.
